On Sunday, October 18, we will host “Seasonal Fruit Picking & Danish Pastry Making with an Ukiha Local Navigator from Travel Serendipity <Part 3: Taishu persimmon>” for guests staying at Fairfield by Marriott Fukuoka Ukiha. This event is part of a series featuring Ukiha's seasonal fruits, designed to let you “experience” the region’s charm. This event is the third part of a series designed to let you experience the charms of the Ukiha area, which is now entering the bountiful autumn season.

Ukiha City in Fukuoka Prefecture is one of Japan’s leading fruit-producing regions, where a wide variety of fruits ripen throughout the year. The focus this time is the “Taishu persimmon,” known for its pleasantly crisp texture and refined sweetness, along with its abundant juice.

First, the event will take you to “Nakajima Farm,” where you’ll harvest Taishu persimmons while interacting with the farmers and enjoying the bounty of nature. Afterward, at “Kawasemi Danish”—a shop specializing in fruit danishes—you’ll create your own original danish using Taishu persimmons and seasonal fruits. During tea time, as you gather around your uniquely decorated, one-of-a-kind danish, please enjoy conversations with other participants and local community members.

Why not set out on a journey to spend a day experiencing Ukiha’s nature, agriculture, and the warmth of its people through the Taishu persimmon—a symbol of autumn’s flavors?
